Your photos stay on your device
With your explicit opt-in, Rollup analyzes the photo library you permit on your device. Derived context is processed by Rollup’s cloud service to personalize the app you enabled it in. Rollup does not upload your original photos or videos.
- You opt in inside the app first, then choose what Photos access to grant
- Visual analysis of your photos and videos runs on your device
- Derived context, such as preferences, patterns, confidence, and evidence counts, is processed by Rollup’s cloud service
- Original photos, videos, and your local media index are never uploaded
What the app receives
An app using Rollup receives derived context for its use case: structured signals, confidence, evidence counts, and coverage. It does not receive a browsable copy of your camera roll, downloads of individual photos, or a reconstruction of your library. If an app uses Rollup’s on-device Search, results stay on your device and within the Photos access you granted.
Disconnecting
You can disconnect Rollup, narrow your Photos selection, or revoke access at any time. Disconnecting stops processing, removes Rollup’s local index and derived data from your device, and removes your server-side context. The app is told to stop personalizing. Removing Rollup’s index does not delete your original photos or videos.
Retention and choices
We keep transaction and permission records as needed to operate the service, prevent fraud, and document licensed uses. You may ask to access, correct, or delete eligible personal information by contacting hello@tryrollup.com.
