FOR DEVELOPERS
Rollup SDK Terms
Terms, version 2026-10-13Updated October 13, 2026
About these terms
These terms are an agreement between Kint AI, Inc. (“Kint”, “we”, “us”), which makes Rollup, and you, the developer or the organization you act for (“you”). They cover the Rollup SDK, the Rollup developer dashboard, and the Rollup services the SDK talks to.
You accept these terms when you submit an app in the developer dashboard, or when you download, integrate or use the SDK, whichever comes first. If you accept for an organization, you confirm that you can bind it. If you do not agree, do not use the SDK or the services.
Definitions
- “SDK” means the Rollup software development kit for iOS, in binary form, with its interfaces, documentation, resources and the models and data it downloads, and any updates we provide.
- “Services” means the Rollup servers the SDK and the dashboard use, including registration, assets, places, query, profile, diagnostics and status.
- “Your App” means an iOS app you build and distribute that we have approved in the dashboard, identified by its Apple Team ID and bundle ID.
- “End User” means a person who uses Your App.
- “Key” means the publishable key the dashboard issues for Your App.
- “Results” means what the SDK returns to Your App, such as search results, answers and filled profiles.
Access and approval
You need a developer account and an approved app to use the Services. We review accounts and apps and may approve or decline them at our discretion. Each app needs its own Key, and the Services accept a Key only from installs of the app it was issued for, as proven by Apple App Attest.
Keep your account secure. You are responsible for activity under your account and your Keys. Tell us promptly at founders@tryrollup.com if you believe a Key or your account has been misused.
License
Subject to these terms, Kint grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license, while these terms are in effect, to:
- integrate the SDK into Your App and use it to develop and test Your App; and
- distribute the SDK to End Users only as compiled into and inseparable from Your App, through Apple’s App Store, TestFlight or another Apple-approved distribution method.
We reserve all rights not expressly granted.
Restrictions
You will not, and will not let anyone else:
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or otherwise try to derive source code, algorithms, models, weights, prompts or data from the SDK, its resources or the Services, except to the extent applicable law expressly allows it despite this restriction;
- extract, copy or reuse the SDK’s models, resources or downloaded data apart from Your App’s use of the SDK;
- distribute, sell, lease or sublicense the SDK on its own, or as part of another SDK, framework or library;
- modify the SDK, or remove or alter its notices;
- circumvent or interfere with App Attest, Keys, revocation, rate limits, token budgets or any other access or security control, or use another developer’s Key;
- use the SDK or the Services in an app other than Your App, or after we have revoked or disabled it;
- publish benchmarks or performance comparisons of the SDK or the Services without our prior written consent;
- use the SDK, the Services or Results to build or train a product or service that competes with Rollup; or
- use the SDK or the Services in violation of law or of these terms.
Your app and your users
You are responsible for Your App and for how it uses Rollup. In particular, you will:
- publish a privacy policy that accurately describes Your App’s use of Rollup, including the data that leaves the device described below;
- before Your App calls query or profile, clearly tell End Users that information derived from their photo library is sent to Rollup and its model provider, and obtain their explicit permission, as Apple’s App Review Guideline 5.1.2(i) requires;
- request Photos access only for a purpose you have explained to End Users, and honor their choices, including limited access and revoking access;
- comply with Apple’s developer agreements and guidelines and with all laws that apply to Your App, including privacy, consumer protection and data protection laws;
- not use the SDK, the Services or Results to infer, record or act on an End User’s health, religion, sexual orientation or sex life, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, union membership, or information about children, or to make decisions about credit, employment, housing, insurance, education or other eligibility; and
- not use the SDK or Results to identify, track or profile people other than the End User who granted access.
You are solely responsible for what Your App does with Results, including any Results you send to your own servers.
Data
The SDK indexes the End User’s photo library on their iPhone. Photos and videos themselves never leave the device. To provide the Services, the SDK sends us:
- for query and profile: the question or schema Your App provides, and the text the on-device tools derive from the index (such as dates, places, labels and recognized text), sent as tool results. We process these to produce the answer and do not store the questions, schemas, tool results or answers. We use OpenAI as a subprocessor to run the model, with storage of the requests disabled;
- for places, when that option is on: the coarse map cells, about 0.01 degree across, that the End User’s photos fall in, to return the places and geography for those areas;
- diagnostics: per-run reports about indexing (durations, outcomes, failure codes, counts, SDK and iOS versions and device model), which contain no photos, places, text or questions; and
- device registration: a random installation identifier, its credential and App Attest material, and usage counts for Your App.
We use this data only to provide, secure, meter and improve the Services and to enforce these terms, as described in our Privacy Policy. As between you and us, you are responsible for providing any notices and obtaining any consents End Users need for this processing.
The index the SDK builds lives in Your App’s container on the device. Code in Your App can read it, so treat it with the same care as the End User’s photos.
Limits, availability and changes to the Services
The Services enforce rate limits and a monthly token budget for each app, which we set and may change. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the SDK or the Services. The SDK and the Services are provided as they are developed, may contain errors, and have no service level commitment unless we agree to one in writing.
Fees
The SDK and the Services are currently provided without charge. We may introduce fees with at least 30 days’ notice. Fees apply only if you continue to use the Services after they take effect.
Suspension and revocation
We may suspend or revoke your account, an app or a Key, immediately and without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these terms, your use creates a security, legal or abuse risk, or we are required to by law. When an app is revoked or disabled, the Services refuse its requests, and the SDK on End Users’ devices stops indexing and locks its local index. If the app stays revoked for 30 days, the SDK deletes its local index and downloaded data.
Third-party components
The SDK includes third-party software and data under their own licenses. Those licenses, listed in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md in the SDK and its package repository, govern those components, and nothing in these terms limits your rights under them.
Ownership and feedback
Kint and its licensors own the SDK, the Services and all related intellectual property. You own Your App. If you give us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without restriction or obligation to you.
Confidentiality
Non-public information we share with you about the SDK or the Services, including pre-release versions, documentation and terms we agree with you, is confidential. Use it only to use the SDK under these terms, and do not disclose it except to your employees and contractors who need it and are bound to keep it confidential.
Term and termination
These terms apply from when you accept them until terminated. You may terminate them at any time by disabling your apps and stopping all use of the SDK. We may terminate them, or your access, at any time, with or without cause; where practical we will give notice. When these terms end, your license ends: stop distributing new builds of Your App that include the SDK, and delete the SDK from your systems. The sections on restrictions, data, ownership, confidentiality, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and governing law survive.
Disclaimers
THE SDK, THE SERVICES AND RESULTS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KINT DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY THAT RESULTS WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE OR AVAILABLE. Results are generated automatically from an End User’s photos and may be wrong; do not rely on them for decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KINT WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS, THE SDK OR THE SERVICES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THEIR POSSIBILITY. KINT’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS, THE SDK OR THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE FEES YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICES IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AND ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS.
Indemnity
You will defend, indemnify and hold harmless Kint and its affiliates, officers, employees and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or relating to Your App, your use of the SDK, the Services or Results, your relationship with End Users, or your breach of these terms or of law.
Export and sanctions
You will comply with all export control and sanctions laws that apply to the SDK and Your App, and will not use, distribute or make the SDK available in any country, or to any person, where that is prohibited.
Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms, the SDK or the Services will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Delaware, and each party consents to their personal jurisdiction there. Either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect its intellectual property or confidential information.
Changes to these terms
Each version of these terms has a version identifier and an effective date, shown at the top of this page. We may update the terms by publishing a new version here. For material changes we will notify you by email or in the dashboard. We may ask you to accept the new version for each of your apps; if you do not, we may limit or end your access. Otherwise, continuing to use the SDK or the Services after a new version takes effect means you accept it.
General
These terms, with any terms we agree with you in writing, are the entire agreement between you and Kint about their subject and replace prior agreements about it. You may not assign these terms without our written consent; we may assign them to an affiliate or a successor. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Failing to enforce a provision is not a waiver. The parties are independent contractors. We may send notices to the email address on your developer account; send notices to us at the address below.
